Dr Nima Maleki
Born in Iran & I am proud of my Persian heritage, history and culture (pre 1979 invasion). I’m married and have 3 lovely young boys aged 9, 8 and 6. My wife believes I’m a good cook and I enjoy preparing our Persian cuisine. Educated as a specialist in general practice from Copenhagen university of medicine, lived in Denmark for 20 years, relocated to Norway (best ski slopes in Scandinavia) and re-certified as GP specialist in Norway. In 2008 I initiated the start-up of a new GP practice in Oslo, after 8 years in Norway, I was recruited to New Zealand to service a lovely rural community in Mangawhai. The last 2 years I have been the Clinical Director of RestoreMe Clinic, where I gained extensive experience in safely prescribing MC for a variety of conditions. I stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field to tailor products to specific conditions and age groups that can benefit from these medicines. I look forward to leveraging my expertise to support the Alternaleaf Group in delivering high-quality medications to our patients. A highlight of my career was working in several remote areas on Greenland where I enjoyed the rugged nature and providing healthcare for the indigenous people of Greenland. I am a true generalist; I am interested in all aspects of Family medicine both physical and mental health in all age groups. I have worked in different medical systems in Hospitals, A&Es and general practices and am a certified cognitive behavioural therapist.
Dominique Wells – Practice Manager, Registered Nurse
With over a decade of experience in nursing management, Dominique now manages the day-to-day operations of Alternaleaf NZ as our Practice Manager, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry best practice. Dominique has a Bachelor of Nursing and qualifications in healthcare auditing, with a keen eye on quality assurance and improvement to bring the best possible outcomes for patients. Dominique is well versed within the MC space and has held a similar role for the past 2.5 years. In her downtime Dominique can be found toddler wrangling, ubering teens and surviving on grace and caffeine.
